It’s the year to propose as millions are expected to buy an engagement ring this year.

2012 is predicted to be a big year for marriage proposals and buying engagement rings, with around 14 million expected to propose this year – more than previous years of engagement ring sales. It’s also predicted that four million plan to buy an engagement ring this Valentine’s Day to pop the big question, instead giving flowers and chocolates.

According to the American Express Spending and Savings Tracker 48% of single men would be happy to spend between £1000 to £3000 on an engagement for their partner. Traditionally men will spend around three months salary on an engagement ring, but personally I believe the price you spend is completely up to you.
